Yeah, from a narrative point of view Rei still is the second most important character in Rebuild but it doesn't mean what they did with her was good. Her return in 4.0 would have to be as glorious as the second coming if its to undo the shit 3.0 made us swallow.
>>2238258I'm an old fan and I have to admit I liked pokanami, it certainly was sugary but a good chunk of 2.0 covered the lightest part of NGE so it didn't bother me so much since it at least it seemed they were doing something with her rather than relegating her to the background like in the equivalent episodes. I hoped the developement would take things in an interesting direction once things took a dark turn. Obviously I was wrong.
