>>3344882A'ight, I'm back. Second impression: That was nice, but this is still about the fifth or sixth time we've done the "old guard original strike team member angsts over their past and situation" thing, and it’s getting kinda old. Especially since they usually go the same way: committing to take action, but not really -doing- anything. So many characters have sworn to "do something", but that "something" always feels nebulous and on the horizon, never actually taking shape or getting closer. I feel like I’m reading a book that consists only of variations of its own first chapter.
Meanwhile, Lucio and Zenyatta have still both done absolutely nothing, DVa remains isolated from the bigger picture despite receiving her own short, Pharah has been mentioned but not observably spoken for herself in years, and the literal mascot character has accomplished nothing that actually matters and her own tribulations have gone with little to no direct acknowledgment or development. I think this is a step in the right direction (mainly because nothing canon was released just for its own sake in 2018; everything was tied to an event), but that also means you need to -maintain- that direction and turn those steps into strides. We need to get out of this "opening act" mindset and actually make progress. I will say, however, that the mental image of Reinhardt–armor, hammer and all–trying to be sneaky brought a smile to my face.
