What interests me is why Fareeha didn't answer the message. Did she think it was a prank by either a random pleb or Talon, and that Ana was still dead? Did she use her Overwatch worthy brain, add two plus two, and figure out that 'Hey I'm Ana, and I'm fine!' is very suspicious after the LAST time someone was 'fine' when Talon was involved(Which might make voicelines that indicate she was mad with Widow non-canon, although to be fair Micheal "I don't know what lore is" Chu is on record as saying that some of those aren't anyway)? Or perhaps she just doesn't care for any of the above, and would rather keep going with her new life, than bother with any connection to the old, given the hearbreak it caused.
It's a question we won't get answered unfortunately, but I guess it's neat to have -fresh- things to theorize about? I personally hope she used her 10,000IQ myself, but I know I will be wrong.
And about being tied to an event...it SORT of is....it's one of those 'win 9 games, and also watch 6 hours of streams' things(I know you don't care for the news, so I figured I should at least mention it so there's no chance of kicking yourself about not getting the sprays that go along with the skin, IF you care for them.

The thought of him being stealthy, plus him being Strike Commander of all things, makes me think of a non-dimwitted Sergeant Schultz. Overwatch would be so terrifyingly effective with him in charge that Talon would die in a week if they didn't get him fired...and now I want that.
