>>3293650The issue with the 'Emily Situation'(I can't really share OWLzard's opinion) isn't what, but who and why. A life outside of work where she can just spend time relaxing and being Lena, instead of just Tracer? Good. Making Emily when they are several other, better, characters this could be achieved with in a way that positively contributes to the narrative mess? Not even remotely.
Tracer could just have easily went and just helped/met Mercy, Pharah,
D.Va or Lucio, or visited Zenyatta and sought guidance.
With the possible exception of Zenyatta(Genji could also be an influence), none of these people have any reason to really think of joining Nu-OW, and she could have helped with that before going to Gibraltar to be with her -own- family.
Emily was, and will continue to be a black hole of character development, while having none herself, and for what, a kiss some of the aforementioned better characters could have done too, but also better(Admittedly with a longer lead-up, but that might mean STORY ARCS, which are verboten)?
It's just...lazy, OW is supposed to be better, but nope. Tracer has a relationship? Just create a literally who who shouldn't, and ideally wouldn't, exist. Want to have Fareeha understand Ana a bit? She goes from "Mission first" to "We're a family, I'm a protector" in one comic. Doomfist is a threat? Plot Armour in all appearances. Need to show Sombra realizing she screwed up? Zarya just finds out the name she tried THAT hard to bury. How to show plotbot as important? McCree picks a side, despite leaving OW in the first place because he refused to.
It's the same sort of nonsensical 'storytelling' that brought WC to it's current sorry state, and it'll do it to OW as well. Although credit where credit is due, the McCree COMIC, and the Bastion/Torb comic were fine, and so was Pharah's, aside from the minor grip I mentioned above.
Sorry for taking so wrong with the reply, I just wasn't happy with it, still not, but, less unhappy at least.
