>>3325821Aw, dude, that's rough. I always compose mine in a word processor first; less risk of crashes, and lets me easily check character numbers.
I assumed Pained and Kinndy were analogous to Lena in this comparison, so my interpretation may have differed from yours. To me, it's not about Mondatta; it's about Lena failing at something of great significance to her and feeling like the it's all being swept under the rug. I find that to be wasteful storytelling, and at the expense of a character I like very much no less, so it irritates me.
I'm sorry for some lines in my argument. I realize you're very passionate about this. I am as well, and in the heat of my attempt to make a point, I made a comparison that I now with a calmer mind regret as very insensitive. Much like with Emily (and yes, I am bringing up that "bitch", but -only- in the context of how you and I discuss certain topics), I just don't think we can see eye-to-eye on this. Our interpretations of the character are too at odds, and clearly neither of us is going to be convinced of the other's way of thinking, so if we keep debating we'll likely just get angrier and start hating each other. For the record, no I do not want Widow to be lynched and I am not even anti-redemption. I just think it needs to be -earned- and the issues it would create for everyone involved need to be addressed head-on. I didn't mean to offend, I apologize if I did, and I'm tired with arguing, so please, let's be friends again.
And oh, for crying out loud, fuck that guy and fuck whoever thought to include him. Could have been worse I guess, but talk about ruining something nice by dredging up bad memories when there was no need. See, this is what I mean about being wasteful; let's treat her low points like a joke instead of investing these resources into using her more meaningfully or–God forbid–respectfully. This is why I'm taking a sabbatical.
