He's upset that he's basically a one hit wonder who managed to strike gold and because said gold wasn't quite what he wanted he's thrown a hissy fit for 20 years and is now partaking in the largest spergfest known to mankind in an attempt to make his own franchise as awful as possible to get people to stop liking it.
