>>3957278Although I personally view it a bit different, I can understand where people come from when talking about /pol/. I think /pol/ has become synonymous with derailing threads. The reason being a lot of people that frequently post on this website are newfags who don't have the proper vocabulary to eloquently describe the people they're trying to describe. Similar to how people will use the terms "left" and "right to describe their "political views" when their views are just whatever their social media influencer has said that week. The only evidence that I have to support this claim is that you mainly find these people on highly trafficked/infamous boards. Such as /pol/,/v/,/k/ and so on. There people haven't experienced anything but buzzwords and conflict so they don't know how to do anything but green text something they don't like. Something like this, where we are having a civilized discussion would be impossible on many boards right now due to the vast majority of users that have a misunderstanding on the way we discuss things here.
