I don't mean to brag, but language is one of my best talents. I understand/learn languages quite easier than most people I know. I can hear every difference in sound and pronunciation, and everyone tells me I speak other languages as if I were a native.
Others say wataushee no (as in know) namaee wa (instead of the short "v" like sound) day-sue. I do not. I believe this is because of the grand similarity in pronounciation between Japanese (as well as Korean) and my native language.
I speak Spanish, English, German, Italian, and (wish) I knew Japanese.
Not all character's voice's are whiniy or high pitched, and most japanese girl's voices are more high and feminine than that of other girls, but Asuka's Japanese voice actor takes it way overboard. It doesn't fit her. A redheaded german girl that sounds like bubbly moeblob is very strange to me.
