Actually though, the show basically supports this. Rakka recovers from the painful experience of growing wings quickly, perhaps implausibly so, and by the end of the first episode seems positively delighted with them. There's a lot going on there of course, it's characterising and a little bit of worldbuilding and so forth but I think it's also to further reassure the audience that it's okay to think they're lovely, echoing Reki's comments earlier on the beautiful grey colour with agreement from Rakka's focus more on tactile senses.
