Krupinski had this to say about his infamous crash record:
>Interviewer: How many times were you shot down during the war?>Krupinski: I bailed out four times, crashed a few times and was wounded five times in all. I don’t recall the exact number of belly landings, since my flight log was taken by an American GI when I became a prisoner at the end of the war. I would guess the number of crashes to be between 10 and 12. I would like you or the readers as a favor to me, please let the world know about that logbook. If it ever turns up, I would like to give it to my grandsons one day.
