>>4155190My honest take would be, that I think there are many instances where it can be great for humanity, but also ways it can be very terrible. For example, the fact that we can get fanart of any character, even ones that basically no one has ever heard of, without needing any art experience is pretty cool to me, but it can also be very concerning. The idea of the many artists that I look up to, and respect very dearly quitting or being demoralized, is extremely saddening to me. Artists have given so much to give us the enjoyment we receive by viewing their images, the amount of sweat and tears put into their works, the amount of dedication to hone in their craft, the love and passion they put into every intricate detail in their works. And all of this, to find out that any of us browsing thread, can make what takes them hours to make, in just minutes?
I'm not saying it's all bad, but I just wish there was a way, that the average Joe could make the images they can make, without impacting their motivation in the slightest. And don't even get me started on the 24/7 spam of AI on Pixiv, even if you're pro AI, you gotta admit the spamming is pretty obnoxious, it's so bad I can barely find human made images anymore.
Regardless, I'll continue to supports human artists in anyways I can, just because I like seeing humanity succeed. Kinda like how I can buy a factory produced walking stick for about 20$ at local Walmart, or I could go to a handcraft store and buy one for 200$ just to support the local business, obviously the 20$ choice is objectively better, but when you buy the more expensive walking stick, you get the feeling knowing you helped out a fellow person.
Sorry for replying to an 8 day old post btw, this board just moves so slowly.
