the object of my desires varied and was never properly defined, but i fell in love with the idea of life as various things - as a crow, a hypothetical future civilisation-builder bird, as the descendent of a surviving lineage of troodontid dinosaurs, etc.
motivated in large part by this i went around and collected molted feathers. to keep them neat and tidy i tried to clean them in the way birds do with their mouths. swan flight feathers and goose primaries I and II worked the best for this because they are "human-scale".
