I've never been to a convention, i think it's just because i live in NZ and the only Convention here is Armageddon. Anyone been there?

im going to nycc on friday of next week, its gonna be my first con ever. anyone got any stories/advice/whatever for a first timer?

Without wanting to be condescending or insulting, let's be honest here, cons probably have the highest concentration of socially awkward, smelly and cringe worthy beta's in the world.

I can imagine some of the people who go to those conventions are pretty normal, though. like moot.

Do you ever get embarrassed for other people there? Do cringe shivers go down your spines during the course of the day? Do you at points ask yourself why the fuck you're there or wonder if you're equally weird?
