>>1622922>If I just swap the suspesion for a regular fork, as well as change the rims and tires, am I good to go? Is there anything else I'm missing?>Are the gears on a speed that much different?>Do I NEED to swap the handle bar for a 'speed' one as well? If yes, how complicated would it be to enable gear changing in the speed handlebar?>Sorry for the interview, thanks though.A rigid fork is a good idea. make sure it is a similar a-to-c length (axel to crown). if the length is significantly different your handling will be worse.
Road tires are a must and you will go faster, however I would not go too narrow with them. I like 26x2.0" slicks the most. narrow 26" tires feel like shit to me.
for handlebars, cut yours narrow and add "bullhorns" lower them. then you will have basically a road riding hand position when you want to be aerodynamic
drop bars are generally not a good idea on a mountain bike that already fits you. the top tube is too long. if your mtb is small, the drop bar conversion can be fine, but it's stupidly expensive sometimes
