>>1622922>Is there anything else I'm missing?frames made especially for suspension forks have their steering tubes sit a little higher
and suspension forks are around 50 to 100 mm longer than rigid forks (common suspension travel on older mtb)
you'll have to take some measurements of the bike frame and fork length to choose a rigid fork of the right length
.eg
Axle to fork crown distance
Rake
Steerer length and diameter and taper
>change the rims and tiresif you have disk brakes on your bike this is easier
but you still need the right hub width
>Are the gears on a speed that much different?normally the chain rings are larger and the rear cassette has more closely spaced gears
they are not so good up hills, and the difference between the hardest and easiest gear is small
there are also many other small differences in the way one sits on and handles a road / speed bike
mtb and hybrid bikes are a bit different, normally less twitchy and slightly more comfortable
