I've heard about the desire to build in-between these 1940s-era brick towers, I think I've even see a few high rises in such locations.. But the obsolete towers are just a disaster in themselves. But there is no money to fix them let alone replace them, so they'll have t do some private partnership, but investors will certainly be spooked... though I'm sure the city will try enticing them in some way, probably some good loan offers or some bond arrangement or whatever.
