You probably should take off the shock and fork and do at least a 50hr service (oil change and replace cheap foam/orings) or have it done by a shop it shouldn’t be too hard if you just do a 50hr
If you’re worried about frame/linkage integrity yeah you should disassemble it, the linkage arms could be slightly out of shape and you wouldn’t be able to tell bolted on, plus you’ll get a good look/feel of the bearings and see if they’re gritty
