I'm doing winter alpine trips like pic rel 10-12 hrs walking in snow, 5k calories a day energy expended, 4800 calories per day in food, 1kg of food a day. The trips are only 2-4 days, but doing that with a 1500 cal energy deficit can quickly catch up and wreak your body.
