>>4282073>SOFTLIGHTER BAAAAADThis wall sized LV ad was shot by some lady using a single photek softlight, a d810, and a 24-70 f2.8. No other lights than what was already in the room (lamps, windows, etc) The setup process consisted of unfolding the umbrella (diffuser always on), sticking it on the strobe, and turning the camera on. This modifier is unique in that it scatters reflected light through very a large diffuser panel, so the less focused light is less placement critical and you have more leeway for model movement and modifier placement.
The most basic gear is the most effective. It frees the photographer and lets them just work instead of piss the day away playing with dials and velcro accessories. The gear setup here, you could replicate on a budget so tight it wouldn't be enough cash to buy a single decent sony body
D810: $500
24-70: $600
Modifier: $150
Strobe, you wouldnt need more than 200-300w for this shoot: $350, maybe turn this up if you want to btfo the sun
Transmitter: $50, good enough
Some sort of stand: $100
Non-gear expenses:
Assistant to hold/move the light: $50 for an hour, who'd turn it down?
Keith Richards: Call for price
Skill: Priceless
If you already bought a softbox, ok, but that's like, well, when I had my drivers license redone, they had a softbox, and an a7riii or a7riv, for some reason, something that said sony a7r on the front. I wonder what happened to their canon rebel and on-camera speedlight? Your tax dollars at work.
