I don't think I have any complaints about either of them however aside from photos feeling dark at high focal lengths.
>- Are you open to used bodies or do you want new only?Preferably new only, but I wouldn't turn down a bargain. However I live in New Zealand so the market is alot smaller than in a larger country
- Do you want FF or are you fine with aps-c? (60D is aps-c) Or do you not know?
I've only ever shot with the 60D so I'm not sure if I'd value a fullframe camera more. Looking briefly that seems to be about +$1000 in local currency comparing the R8 to the R10 (=$600 USD). To be clear, my initial $1200 budget was in USD.
>- Give us a rough idea of the kinds of photos you want to take in Japan. Night street? Wide angle landscapes? Telephoto wildlife?I don't have a specific preference unfortunately. I usually end up taking photos of landscapes because that's usually what I'm in a position to shoot in terms of traveling with a large camera. I have however enjoyed walking around and just photographing buildings, streets etc - pic related I took the last time I was there. I'd like to take more candid photos of (individual) people but I think this would be difficult with a larger camera.
I should maybe also mention that I tend to only use my camera when travelling; I tend to not go and drive somewhere on the weekend and take photos unless I'm already going to an event or something. When I do use it though, I use it alot.
