But even then it's a one click fix in Lightroom.
The reason people like longer lenses for portraits is becasue of perspective, not lens distortion.
It's all about the distance to the subject.
Cropping is a perfectly fine way to stand a little further so you get nice flat features.
Only disadvantages are:
- You'll see more noise in the magnified image, so you have to keep the ISO low.
- You get more depth of field, so no bokeh whoring.
