>>4136865haven't noticed issues with 5m snap mode but assumed the lens isn't as sharp as a gr variant esp. at corners.
for fixed distances, I prefocus with AF first, then press the MF on the touch screen then take a few shots which is handy for lowlight that require f2.8. also, xf10 is sharpest center to corner at f2.8-f3.2. I rarely use snap mode but instead input my desired numbers if I want to zone focus.
in your case, since 28mm isn't your comfy focal length, bring both xt100 and xf10. or just xt100, photo stitch your 10% wide shots.
or get a gr3x now if you prefer a sharp, pocket compact, not sure how well it handles lowlight AF.
or get a x100 variant later on if you want a 35mm when the vi is released. not sure with the corner sharpness.
then get wide angle adapter, but also may be pricey like buying another lens?
also, it seems xf10 sharpness mogs x100v in LR or it overprocessed the xf10 by default? I usually turn down the xf10 sharpness to 0 in LR, but for personal preference.
