For the remainder of that night and a good chunk of the next day, you were running around, making calls left and right in order to get everything you needed to flip the Morlock’s underground home. It was rather exhausting, and far less exciting when you were the one that had to do the coordinating.
For one, those tunnels were super difficult to navigate on your own without a map, so you had to show them exactly where you wanted them to start working, as well as the detailed blueprints that you had drawn up.
Not wanting to keep coming down here every single day, you had a few maps printed out, explaining that they were, under no circumstances, to deviate from the path that you set for them. If they somehow got lost nearby, then they should be able to course correct without too much difficulty. You just had to hope that none of the Morlocks would try to interfere with the project.
If anything, you were confident that Callisto would notice one or two of them sneaking off in their direction, even if she couldn’t see them.
By the time you climbed out of there, your phone chirped a few times, signaling you to the missed texts you had from Cindy.
It would appear that her lessons were done for the day, and she was on her way home. You weren’t terribly worried about her traversing the city on her own. She could take care of herself just fine.
You sent a reply to confirm that you’d seen her messages, and then composed one for Flint. You and he had plans tonight, and it looked like he would be running a little late. You were only slightly offended by this inconvenience, seeing as how these were his plans.
At least this would give you a chance to figure out how you would go about this whole thing.
Tonight, you and he were going to meet with an informant at a bar on the shady part of town. The plan was to go out of costume and try to juice the guy for information, but there were other ways to go about things here.
The guy undoubtedly wanted money for this info. You knew that.
What you didn’t know, however, was how much he’d want, and how reliable the information would be. It's about a week old, and the shelf life of information is pretty damn short. The guy could just be using you to get a quick buck.
On the other hand, you could always let Flint go in alone, and then tail the guy to figure out more about him. Maybe get some blackmail, juice him for more info, or something that could be used to call in a favor later.
So, how do you want to handle this?
