>>5702502Hopefully this gets some idea across of where she's at right now.
>What does she want out of the relationship? You already covered it but more time together with Felix (and now as a family with their kids). It's gotten a lot better over the last year but Elena doesn't get to spend as much time with him as she'd like to. The academy won't last forever though, and she'll be finished with university soon as well. This and wanting to be a newtype relate very closely, Elena wants to be closer generally; emotionally, physically, the works.
Her life has been heavily defined by absent family, but Felix has always come through for her, they've both stayed loyal to one another for years despite being long distance pen pals rather than in anything like a normal relationship. There's finally a real light at the end of the tunnel for getting something close to the life she's dreamed about for years. The one thing that truly terrifies her is losing all of this after getting so incredibly close to having her dream; that's all bottled up in intense fears about the impending war, and experiences with her once (sort of) happy family falling apart at a distance. For awhile she was also starting to think of herself as a kind of bad luck charm that kept bringing horrible disasters to everything she touched, but after (most of) a year without a new crisis and the healthy birth of the twins she's started to put that away.
She's still fully onboard the 'kill the Zabis' train as both personal revenge for the villa and keeping Felix and the kids safe, with possible carveouts for Dozle, Garma, and Vivima. Elena is probably more bloodthirsty when it comes to this than Felix, closer to Casval's view. She doesn't have nearly as much 'positive' exposure to the Zabis as Felix, and she's not bothered at all with killing people that harm people she cares about.
Politically Elena is a true convert to a brand of contolism very, very close to Felix's own, and obviously she believes in newtypes as well. She's more of an ere-ist than a side-ist, when it comes up she's more interested in getting people the hell off of the Earth and into nice colonies to live in rather than how the Sides are actually organized or working together; that's for Felix and Casval to figure out. She'd absolutely join AEUG if it existed. For what it's worth she's actually glad Casval is taking the lead politically rather than Felix jumping into the thick of it. A more quiet life post-war would suit her very well, but she's [/spoiler:lit]willing to make sacrifices[/spoiler:lit].
She's grown a lot warmer toward engineering despite it really being her mother's idea, but art is still her real passion. If engineering weren't tied in with Felix's political and military aspirations, and there wasn't a looming war, she'd probably be taking things easier and painting rather than preparing to help design mobile suits.
