”Fuck it. The HC’s down and out like us, we can probably get her up and running faster than them. Start replacing the network as fast you can, I want for her to get going as soon as we can, without making it unrepairable afterwards.” You emphasise at the end.
And with that, all three of you jump to it, trying to get the system up and running as soon as possible, whilst trying to avoid excessive damage.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JfW_XeH82-0Watching Iron work is always impressive, no matter how much you’d like to deny it. His arms had split into eight parts at once, taking off plating to allow access to exposed wires, whilst simultaneously instantly begging their repairs, changing out wire, cutting it, rewiring it.
Gavril, clearly feeling challenged, does his damndest to keep up, and to your shock and surprise, he actually does. Instead of relying on advanced technology, he relies on technique and experience. Instead of replacing everything as he goes, Gav simply looks for intersections, or places of clear damage, quickly ripping off a plate and then with practiced movements repairing it. Whilst not as extensive and all inclusive in his repairs, he embodies the idea of “good enough is perfect”.
You more or less find yourself just sitting on your hands, as the two continue to compete at an ever-increasing pace. At one point, you have to duck under a piece of plating as it flies at you. Suddenly, you find yourself walking in a completely absentminded way, dodging the occasional thing flying through the air.

Covered in sweat, breathing heavily, Gavril falls on his ass exhausted. Iron looks to be mildly amused, or annoyed, it’s hard to tell with him lacking any real facial features.
Taking up a cord, you connect it, and swiftly the red emergency lights go out as the bright white lights of normal running pop back up.
“Well gents. Good job, I’ve got a battle to command.” You cheekily say, walking off to the bridge.

“Captain, good to see that you are still fine. The repairs took less than expected.” Says Tetrault.
“You can thank Gavril and Iron for that, both did a great job running themselves ragged. How’s the situation ?”
“Lord-Commander Ahsing had just turned his broadside upon the exposed rear thrusters of the Aggressor. It is entirely crippled now, sir. Thanks to our power getting back up so quickly, we were able to assist the Bullseye to shoot down the remainder of enemy spacecrafts.” She reports.
Quickly taking your seat upon the captain’s chair, you look at the tactical display before you.
And it is a damn sad sight. Almost the entirety of your fleet remains crippled or destroyed by nothing more than a single heavy cruiser really, alongside a swarm of spacecraft.
This won’t help my reputation. You wearily think.
“Can Commander Desmond move ?”
