Unwilling to let your temper worsen this headache, you just cross your legs and sit down.
Iroh raises an eyebrow, his suspicious look turning curious. “Are you okay, Lady Azula? You have a nasty frown on you.”
“Nastier than usual, you mean?” You say sarcastically. You drink Iroh’s tea, the old man’s training in the past few years has made him the perfect brewer. It’s at the exact point where the flavor is not too strong, but keeps a good presence, while the tea’s warmth makes the growing northern cold more bearable. It’s good, but of course it’s good, it’s Uncle’s.
“I did not mean it in such a way, Lady Azula.” He takes another sip and a broad smile appears on his face. “Aah… Nothing like a good, warm tea to get the firebending gears going!”
Zuko appears by the table. “What are the two of you doing?” He stands upright, fists clenched, a serious look accompanying his biting tone.
Iroh waves towards the table. “Just enjoying some fine tea before a lightning bending class.”
“Lightning bending?” Zuko’s eyes widen, he looks at you. “You know how to bend lightning?”
The headache, which had grown calmer, resurfaces slightly. “You don’t?” Your nasty smirk clearly tugs Zuko’s nerves.
“You will teach me too.” Zuko says, raising a fist. “I must learn it to defeat the Avatar.”
“Prince Zuko.” Iroh says while shaking his head. “You are not yet ready to master lightning bending, it requires a control over one’s own energy that excels any normal firebender’s.”
Zuko’s voice turns into a yell and your headache worsens. “So why is she able to do it?! She’s younger than me and I’m also the son of the Fire Lord and a descendant of Avatar Roku!”
“Prince Zuko, please.” Iroh pleads.
Zuko’s eyes narrow as he looks at you, you are focused on calming your headache after finishing your cup of tea. “What are you looking at, Zuzu?” You retort, forcing a smile through the pain. “You want to prove you’re better than me? How about an Agni Kai, here and now?”
He takes a stance in front of you, you get up and enter yours, your arms meet, the ritual to commence a duel, your smirking expression meets his angry, decisive stare.
Uncle Iroh steps in, moving your arms away from one another and pushing both of you. “Enough.” He points fingers. “Prince Zuko, remember your task and duty, you will not bring harm to an ally in your quest to end the Avatar.” Then he points at you. “Lady Azula, I say the same to you. This bickering is not what this voyage needs.”
“Whatever.” Zuko says, then drops his stance and slams the door that heads into the ship. You make sure to have the most demeaning expression possible when he gives the bridge one last look.
Uncle sighs and takes a stance. “Well anyhow, let’s proceed.”
You stretch. “Finally.” And imitate his stance.
