I think the Zudah got mentioned in an earlier thread didn't it? Might be mixing this up with another Gundam quest on akun.
Anyway, the Zudah was Zimmad's proposal for the Zaku program, alongside Zeonic's machine, which would become the Zaku I. The Zudah had substantially higher performance compared to the Zaku I, but it's engine was totally incapable of handling it's own power output, leading to multiple catastrophic self-destructions during testing. Zimmad couldn't get it fixed properly before Zeonic used their political capital to smear the Zudah and get the competition called early in their favor. However, Zimmad never quite gave up on the Zudah, but unfortunately even by the time the war ended they were unable to fix it's problems. It did see some combat, but pilots had to treat it with kid gloves.
Out of universe, the Zudah was one of several machines to be debuted in MS IGLOO, an early 2000s OVA series whose first season focused on various failed Zeon prototypes, including the Zudah. It's a great series, give it a try sometime!
