As Lucian rounded Nightshade he focused upon Baron Budapest. The warrior still wielding the sword that was within his hands knowing full well that his fate was already within Lucian’s hands.
If the Knight really wanted to Lucian could simply run his fellow Knight down. Breaking a series of bones before coming through again and cutting the head off the fool for rejecting an honorable bout between them. Yet he did not bring Nightshade to a gallop to bring death upon the man but instead brought his stead to a stop.
With a push of himself Lucian brought himself upon the field of battle. His feet sank softly into the dirt as it failed to fully maintain the weight of his armor upon the ground. Lucian did not let it deter him as he brought his scythe to his side.
“You spoke before Budapest that the numbers were upon your side, now may we both gaze upon the battlefield that proves I am right!” Lucian said as he gestured towards the ruination that was there.
The fight that should have been in the thickets was already done. There was no sign of men retreating for their corpses were scattered across the field. Each of them blackened as ashe as whatever sorcery the Lizardman had brought upon their foes finished its work.
Only to exemplify the devastation the giant lizard Bok was ripping into the flesh of a horse among their number. The beast easily scarfing down an entire hide with plenty of more room within its stomach to consume.
“Damn it…” The Baron said simply as he turned towards Lucian with the sword and shield by his side, “You have already won yet you are taunting me by dismounting your horse?”
“The Gods are always watching our conduct.” Lucian told the man with the zeal expected of someone who could be called a Priest, “If you held this motion close to your heart you might have been so blessed as I have.”
“Blessed…” The man was clearly mulling over his action, “You might be right, or you might not be. What I know is that you are my judgment it seems.”
“Then you know I cannot let you walk away.”
“Yes, I do.” The Knight said as he threw the shield to the side and held his sword with two hands, “Make sure my son knows of my fate, Black Knight.”
“I make no guarantees for a Brigand such as yourself.” Lucian said as he tensed his muscles, “If you wish it done then plea to Morr.”
“Aye, I will do that.” He said while taking an offensive stance.
