Their plastic quality has gone down the drain ever since they changed the way they produce their parts by adding color pigments to translucent plastics instead of molding them out of already colored ones.
the amount of color imperfections has greatly increased, parts get hairline-cracks left and right, especially clips, minifigs and Technic axle connectors and the clutch power is quite lower than before.
Brown parts are notorious for that and there are multiple reports on them.
Some suspect that it also has to do with their molding machines working at the absolute limit to supply the pieces for the ridiculously large number of sets, with cooling times reduced to such a degree that the final parts are JUST good enough to get a pass.
