So in case anybody is interested in verified by visa/3d secure, here's a rundown. VbV is an outdated and insecure method of payment, that was implemented over a decade ago. First, your bank has to apply for the program. Then they have to create their own specific backend. Different banks verify different information, and may or may not enroll you automatically. My previous bank, for example, stopped supporting this system in 2013. Which means that it WILL bring up a page with my bank's logo on it, with the domain of
visa.com along with a spinning wheel. Then it takes me to a blank page, returns the cancelled code to Mandarake, shows me a blank page, and then kicks me back to the page to enter information in. Simply because the processing backend that that my bank used to run doesn't exist anymore. If you call visa, they will tell you that they do not support the system, and then they will tell you it's on your bank's end. Or they will give you an unlisted 800 number that goes to a helpdesk that handles BOTH VbV and MC 3d Secure. It is key to remember that these payment systems are both currently being phased out by most companies, in favor of technologies like Visa Checkout, PayPal, and future mobile payment systems. These systems were VERY sparsely adopted in the US. Mandarake uses it because this system allows Mandarake to avoid liability from fraud and chargebacks. TMK Visa, MasterCard and other people basically told online shop owners that they would have to pay up unless they implement this system. Mandarake is really the only overseas seller that offers these kinds of goods at a fair price. I still love them for doing that, and I don't blame them for implementing this system. I just want to find a solution to the problem, so myself and others like me can continue to shop with them. If and when I find a solution, I will post it so other people can just search and find the answer they need, because I really can't find anything on this issue.
