I saw the pics and I'm hoping this might be more of an anomaly rather then the new norm. Maybe it's just some gang trying new tactics by unique upgrades to vehicles. The police force still looks to be using more regular tech at least.
I mean I love the LEGO City Undercover game partly because it's similar to a regular world with just a few tweaks because it's klocki. The lineup of cars was great because I can recognize so many of them being based or at least inspired by real cars. Sure things in the final act get pretty off the wall nuts with forcefields and a moonbase but otherwise it's fine.
