Found these guys at Dollar Tree recently, a showcase of the sad and sometimes disturbing plastic soldiers China is offering these days. The poses are mostly Afrika Korps, with a couple from British 8th Army and one I've never been able to source but has shown up a lot in similar mishmash armies. The men themselves have that flattened, emaciated look that seems to be the norm for this period: every set on AliExpress and Amazon with these poses and sourced from China is cursed by it. The pose assortment is random, with the greens in the package on display lacking one of the poses altogether (he is present in the others). One of the poses has difficulty standing on its own, and the plastic they're made of is too rigid to try bending the figure a bit without potentially snapping.
I mostly picked them up to check out the helicopters, and while the rotor design is a bit odd I kinda like them, they're something new and I appreciate just about any kind of helicopter being included with army men. The tanks are a design apparently based on the Merkava and have become standard accessory fare for army men these days. The green and tan star flags with stickers pre-applied (on both sides to boot) are a nice touch, while the single piece of barbed wire for each force feels inadequate (even just doubling it to two per side would've been a big improvement). Overall it's not terrible I guess, certainly better than a lot of what Dollarama has been offering over the years and for $1.25 CAD per tube with two helos, two tanks and two platoons of soldiers it's a bargain.
