Not sure about you, but for me Lego is a form of escapism and cope. My life is not difficult. On the contrary, it's actually rather easy. But it's boring and mundane.
When I build with Lego, it's an outlet for creativity. I can do whatever I want with Lego. My own world. It gives me a powerful form of control which I don't really have in my real life.
I also seek the innocence and simplicity of my youth. I long for the past, and Lego connects me to that. Back when I had more possibilities ahead of me and less regrets behind me.
I have a lot of money now that I'm a working man but it gets me nowhere. I'm basically buying Lego to fill the voids inside of me. It never works, only temporarily, but I do it over and over again anyway.
