One theme with some fun bigfigs is Enlighten's The War of Glory, more or less their not-WoW fantasy line. The clutch of the bricks is somewhat weaker than their more recent themes under their Qman rebranding but I got a couple to try out and generally enjoyed the neat accessories, weapons and of course that sweet rock monster. Unfortunately they seem to be on the way out, been sarching for a bit on Ali and haven't found active listings for most of the sets.
If you're already willing to go beyond Lego I highly recommend the GoT dragons from Mega's line, have both and they're both a lot of fun to pose and tower over all foes quite nicely. Really need to dig them out for some pics, maybe once the armies are further along...
