The new greys (notably called bluish grey) have more blue than green in them and hence seem more metallic.
The newer bluish greys are more accurate for the starwars stuff, but I find the old yucky greenish greys to fit better for the oldschool castles / rocks.

The new set is targeted at you, someone who doesn't want to pay for the OG vintage stuff. Exact remakes died with the legends line in 2002.
