>>7491680Don't forget the possible intervention of Didney into canning Bionicle when Lego didn't have enough production to keep up with global demand back in 2016. Why else would they cancel it so quickly that they didn't even produce Elemental beasts+Umarak more than 4 or 5 months (even less time than the fucking Bionicle Stars) while SW shit was selling even more poorly than Bionicle (which was happening to most TFA merchandising)? Tinfoil conspiracies aside, I keep thinking that something was fishy and this is not even my own theory.
>>7491702Technically speaking it did. It pushed its boundaries when it came to building, hell even SW burrowed gearboxes iirc.
>CCBS Star Wars lasted longerYeah, about a year longer at most, it barely made it to 2018 due to Söylo
>and got more setsStop saying stupid shit, SW got 26 sets over 6 waves including a literal rehash of a barely 2 year old set, while just the Toa and the villains already outnumber them, and we didn't have summer waves of 6 villains like in G1
>it wouldn't have been such a sales failureThink about this, even with the shitty marketing effort that got G2 compared to G1 they still got less shelfwarmers than a merchandising behemoth like Star Wars. This says less about Bionicle and more about the absolute state of Star Wars.
I've seen Bionicle figures of 2016 dissappearing from the shelves while TFA and R1 sets were still in place ,even a couple of years later in some
stores. In fact, I bet my left nut that if I go to any store right now I will still be able to find a SW ultrabuild.
