Different types of plastic. Some are UV reactive, some aren't. A factory in Mexico might use a different source for their plastic, so it comes out UV reactive, while a factory in China uses a source that isn't reactive.

The four main colors that are guaranteed to light up are:

>Transparent Neon Orange
>Transparent Neon Green
>Transparent Medium Blue
>Transparent Neon Yellow

Several other colors light up, including the ghost legs pictured (which appear marbled with an opaque color and transparent clear), glow-in-the-dark pieces, and some red pieces.

Trans-Neon Orange, Trans-Neon Green, and Trans-Medium Blue are the big three. Several other colors react to UV lights in some degree, and many parts that you wouldn't think are reactive actually are. Here are some available pieces that are known to be UV reactive:

The ABS that most bricks are made from is non-reactive, which is why you can soak parts in Simple Green and all the 30-year-old spray paint will dissolve but the plastic will be untouched.

However, most glowing pieces are trans-colored, and made of polycarbonate (PC), not ABS.

So we'd have to test it on an orange transparent chainsaw is what I'm saying.
