Is there anywhere I can send in a custom minifigure print design to get it printed onto actual Lego parts (head, torso, legs) in high quality?

I've been fucking with Lego since the 80s and I can't remember a darker time in Lego's history aside from the kind of trash they came out with in the early 2000s when the company was on the verge of bankruptcy. The prints being translucent has been a problem for quite some time.
It isn't a nitpick when you have a print on a dark surface and the color of the print is all kinds of fucked because it's too thin.

Hogsmeade by far. It has the better building PLUS another building.

The things shrieking shack has going for it in my book are the werewolf Lupin, pink vest Hermione and two animals. Maybe the printed boards are fun for some mocs but other than that there isn't a lot in the way of pieces that makes me warm inside. The womping willow design is a complete miss in my opinion.

The buildings from Hogsmeade are way way better on their own. Both the shop and the pub have cool pieces like the candies and beer bottles and I very much like the Mrs Floom minifig as well as Mr. Flooms cap. All in all I prefer the detail on this set as well as the number of pieces I could, would or would want to use in mocs especially including the masonry pieces.

So like the board games theme the pieces can only stand on 2x2 plates with a stud, though this uses minifigs instead
it's kinda "hero based" in the sense that you have a team of characters (or maybe its co-op with more players idk yet) and they all have specific stats and stuff, they have HP and hero points which you can get by beating enemies or helping other players/characters and those can be used to do some sort of skill specific to your character
aside from that you need a bunch of henchmen to fight, or brick built robots, can just be city robbers or whatever. I mean I guess anything could work as long as it can stand on a single stud, not sure if the enemies would be a separate player or automated somehow
There's melee attacks and ranged but ranged can miss, there's also cover which can be either partial or full (depends on if the "cover" is taller than the minifig or not), if there is a plate with a stud above a wall or something above the height of the minifig (like a second floor) that means you can climb to it but you need a good dice roll for that, if its below minifig height you dont need to.
during your turn you can either move, attack or build (roll die and allows you to move up to 6 pieces that are next to your minifig)
after moving or anything you have to leave the figure looking in one of 4 directions, attacking a minifig makes them turn towards the attacker and if you attack them from the front you get one damage, if you do it from the back though you get a bonus one damage though
the idea is that you can just put the plates on anything with terrain and make it a map to play on, i guess, theres probably more than i forget but ive been typing this for too long now

can you use building to cannibalize the board so that the enemy can't walk there anymore because the board is gone in that spot?

I really wish they would make an SPIV. Some say SPIII was a bit xenophobic because all badguys were aliens, and all the cops were minifigs. But lets be honest most simple sci-fi action franchises work this way, i don't think there is a need to blast SPIII for it. But it does make me want to see what a more well thought out sci-fi SPIV would be like. Something mass effect like with aliens and robots on both the good guy and bad guy team.

Blacktron were the bad guys for space police I and II, and I believe a couple space police sets even came with Blacktron figs.

Life on Mars in 2001, big gap until Mars Mission in 2007, then Space Police III in 2009.
Life on Mars was pretty bad but Mars Mission and Space Police both had some decent sets, 7649 comes to mind as a better mining mech than Power Miners or, as much as I love the Granite Grinder, Rock Raiders pulled off.

Oxford block is the same price as normal lego now. But they do a lot of limited release sets and branded sets like 7/11 or Baskin Robin's, they resell for hundreds just like lego. Mega Blocks is canadian iirc but they are mostly around because they have the license to halo and cod. Oxford has a few popular sets, mainly the Titanic set. As for designs they are kind of bland but they have a lot of Korean historical sets such as Turtle Boats and Temples.

most of the sets are bits of a castle
lots of fantasy creatures
lots of castle elements
only downside is the price and I'm not a massive fan of sandstone coloured castles but plenty of other buildings can be moced from the sets

Anything intuitively castle themed to me should roughly adhere to at least dark ages to early renaissance European culture, where this is too limiting it should be more prone to solve issues with magic than with technology. These should be the foundations of any castle theme for me. I'll allow for variations on it by dipping into similar historic societies like feudal Japan or warring states China. To some degree that includes myths and legends from those cultures. Thats my ideal type idea of castle.

Things that do NOT belong in the castle theme are things I'd consider to be post-renaissance like firearms, cars, airplanes, motorcycles, computer technology and sci-fi themes (space, glass everything etc).

Nexo Knights leans HEAVILY into both the modern vehicle space AND sci-fi / space age aesthetics. Things that I'd strongly consider to be not-castle or antithetical to core castle aesthetics and themes. You could rightly say these two antithetical parts are the core of the Nexo Knights aesthetic, with actual castle theme things like selected armor pieces, swords and crossbows being tacked on as afterthoughts rather than being core. You can strip classically styled castle elements away from the Nexo Knights sets and end up with mostly the same sets. If you strip the modern and futuristic then its not in any way recognizable as Nexo Knights.

NEXO KNIGHTS is closer to being a post-apocalyptic theme. Where PAST space age technology has been partially lost and a handful of pre-modern tools make an occasional return to fill the gaps.

Harry Potter more closely resembles a castle theme than Nexo Knights.
Nexo Knights is home to the categories of Star Wars (feudalism, knights, swords!), Fallout (mixed high and low tech) and Warhammer (Orcs, Demons) and I'd even be willing to entertain the idea that Star Wars is more castle than Nexo Knights for the simple reason that it's an essentially medieval story in nearly all ways except the space backdrop.

Because some people really like castle, but it's been underrepresented in new product lines for years, getting only a fewstandalone sets since 2014 if you don't count Nexo Knights... There was LOTR for a short while, but discont'd in 2015. There was a shit junior set in 2014... then its minifigs and a single polybag shit thing with like 30 mostly generic crap inside until finally in 2021 the Lego Ideas Blacksmith comes out, the Medieval Castle 31120 comes out which has some fun ideas, now 2022 we get Forest Hidout re-release which is quite cool but really its 2022 before we get a really really good new castle... finally. But it has NO smaller sets to accompany it.

And we dont count Nexo Knights because it does not fit any other castle theme. People have painstakingly moc'd castles and villages and battles where a motor bike with a laser shooter is just 1000% out of place. It's not castle compatible, and its frustrating that thats where castle is held up for easily over half a decade. My local toy shop still has Nexo Knights on the shelves, too. So it's not like it's at least making big waves for the 7 year olds with ADHD... because they're all committed to ninjago.

TL;DR
Nexo Knights is incompatible with the castle fandom, but it helped hold castle sets out of new product lines for almost a decade now.

Last thread there was some guy wondering about brands other Octan. I guess they have been adding some over the years. There's also the Cargo subtheme in the 90s, it wasn't featured as a decal in any racing car, but it sure would look nice as one.

don't forget tracks based on all those themes, you could get creative as hell with it with all the settings and shit over the years, just Ninjago alone has a lot of potential for that, you could have swamps, jungles and mountains from Chima, tracks set in space or other planets for Galaxy Squad and all those space themes, Lion Knights Castle, characters and places from the Lego Movies, etc

I got an answer on this. They're prototype pieces made out of that recyclable sugar plastic. It explains the weird marks and it also shows what to expect out of color matching as lego moves to other plastic formulas.
