there was a lot of confusion with the two villians in that series
the guy in the top hat was called Sam Sinister at first, but his name was later changed to Slyboots and the Baron guy with the hook and monocle was rechristened Sam Sinister... and he also started wearing a top hat in some sets, which just added to the confusion. it's almost like they merged the two characters, very strange

anyway I like the Egypt theme the best, but I have a soft spot for the Temple of Mount Everest set too. exotic setting and architecture and a really nice biplane, cool sherpa accessories and several play features... fun!

After dissapointment of Dreamzz the show, I decided to watch new Ninjago- and BOY the fact they worked for netflix allowed them to be much more fun and more free.
Really solid season, love new characters, Sensei Lloyd is hilarious, the battle scenes are beautifuly choreographed and story is actually interesting and suprisingly quite mature.

Dots is ok theme with amazing potential. They should have made City, Ninjago and Friends DOTS sets. I am happy the tilepacks are still very cheap and I often buy them for prints

Skybound is one of the best seasons. Not only it gave us first true grey antagonist ( a guy trying to save own world with Ninjago cost) it also helped Nya and Jay to shine.
Its really sad their love is so badly handled later.
Nadhakan crew was one of the coolest badguys oozing with personality and I love all small stories Lego made with them.

I find it funny that between the Sphinx and the Mummy's tomb there were two different sets with a Mummy Jumpscare play function that worked differently

I have been paying attention to most of the IP sets coming out and haven't seen this face in any off them. So my best guess is probably one of the new heads in Build a Minifig stations. I have seen some good parts show up there in the past. These legs made for a good flight suit. I asked around and best I was able to find out was probably build a minifig piece as well.

This is why I have a playroom/studio for half my toys and keep the rest in the office. There's a mega link that floats around but it's all either fiddly stud.io garbage that can't be built IRL or massive fuckoff star wars/military mocs that don't factor money or part rarity into their designs. There's a reason some instructions themselves cost fucking $20-50 - they're actually well-designed builds, with a logical build order, and well-designed clear instructions. Compared to the overwhelming amount of garbage MOCs with horrid instructions and impossible builds, actual good mocs worth paying for are incredibly rare.

As for why you never see DL links for paid instructions, there's simply no reason for an end-user to upload it when they're done. It's not like translation or media piracy where people spin up identities and value structures around their effort. Someone makes the moc, another buys it, pigs in shit. Just imagining the kind of individual who would pay for a library of mocs in order to distribute them is honestly pathetic. It's just the wrong audience. I'm all for piracy, but it's gotta make sense if someone is gonna do it for free.

Those are not play features, chudcel.

Play features are parts of the set that let you expand with other Lego for that creative and play pursuit with minifigs and vehicles. Like a set of tools in a car garage that also has a lift for the vehicle. Not something gay like 200 pieces to make the Indiana Jones rock roll two steps.

So I usually need to start with one component and work my way out. That might seem obvious, but lets say its a t rex, I pick one segment that can attach seperately to the rest of the model, and work on that until Im happy with it, and I build the rest of the model around it. For a t rex I would start with the head, and use reference images to try and approximate the shape. Look through your parts collection or if you use stud.io pick a color you want it to be and see what parts are available that can make the shapes you want. Once the head is done I can move onto the torso, then the tail, then the legs, then the arms. But I am basically designing it in chunks one at a time. Thats the way Ive been able to make my mocs at least. Oh and use brackets they are your friend. Many of my models have started with basically a box that has brackets lining each side so I can build in whatever direction I want to achieve more complex shapes. Hope that helps a little

Well the big advantage to the 12volt system was the capability to have electrically powered switches as well as proper functioning signals. Electric crossing gates as well as lights that could be hooked up to transformer. (For buildings and such) I don't know why Lego never bothered to bring this functionality to 9volt. I assume that Lego trains simply do not sell good enough to justify any form of major investment into them. It a shame the 9volt system could of benefited form shit like DCC had Lego stuck to it.

bought one of those "sets" that's just a random assortment of bricks. no grand designs just wanna fuck around with legos again. I'm sure a lot of adults get that itch from the time to time.

If you have enough prices to fit a single box then that's fine.

For me all my pieces broken down fit in like 3 or 4 huge fuck boxes so I got some akro mils containers and sort by part type. Like one container has all my bricks and slopes, one container has technic type stuff, things with hinges and bars, one container has stuff like accessories, vehicle parts and windows, and container is minifigs or minifig parts sorted by theme like capeshit, star wars, castle, etc.

Because of covid and memeflation those akro mils containers are super expensive so you can probably find cheaper ones at Lowe's or home Depot.

If you have harbor freight in your area, look up their in-house brand "storehouse." They make tackle boxes with removable cubbies so you can easily pour out pieces you're looking for. There largest size is like 9 dollars. They also have wall cubby setups for relatively cheap.

I've bought the Azure Lion but haven't started building it yet. Split the big ass dragon set with my daughter (she has 0 interest in anything that isn't a giant reptile) and the whole set slaps. Thought it would feel like a rip off but the dragon is easily the best we've seen and the Good Empress's Paragon Warsuit is even better than I expected.
Mech bike is an insta-buy when I see it hit 30% off and I'll wind up picking up the other MK sets by the end of the year for sure.
Original theme friends, this truly is our season.
