I never had any Elves sets except for one I got dirt cheap. The fact that it's mini-doll based I think is neat and wish mini-dolls had more themes. Right now there's only Friends and Disney but we used to have Elves and some super hero sets. Elves was even more special since it was original.

It ran it's course over 3 years. it's not like it only had a single wave that flopped, it was always meant to just be a Friends spinoff for a while.

This idea that things needs to keep being milked forever is pretty insidious and needs to be discouraged.

Just because Lego can't sustain a castle or pirates line consistently shouldn't mean it's not worthwhile. Just do a few waves(less if it doesn't sell) till the hype dies down, retire it, do something else and bring it back in a few years if appropriate. That's not a failure, it's a very healthy progression for Lego products and how it used to be to keep things fresh and foster innovation. It's really sad to see the mindset that to invest in something it needs the evergreen potential of star wars and harry potter and ninjago. When a new Ninjago line is being developed the only real creative impetus behind it is "how do we keep this going?", nothing more.

In all fairness, hoping they'd bring back the monorail system is a lost cause. However, their planned output for the first part of the year is quite disappointing.
Why couldn't we get unique and inventive alien Minifigures for the space wave? Are they just that lazy and unwilling to make new molds? The route they went is so incredibly bland and unexciting, especially when themes of the past have had excellent alien designs.

I think it's supposed to be a tranq gun, not a 'vet tool'. It's less because guns are evil and more because in-universe every dinosaur created is a multi-million dollar investment - the idea is to sedate them, restrain them and get them back into their pens alive so they can continue to be theme park attractions. This same idea was present all the way back in the original Kenner toys for the movies - every weapon was a non lethal thing designed to help the characters recapture the dinos, not murder them, because ultimately they're (expensive) property of an amusement park owned by a rich dude.

I get what you're trying to say but Lady Bone Demon wasn't even the latest villain (it was 3 guys). The Dreamzzz villain is some throwaway (for now) that lasted one episode, the main was the Nightmare King, a guy. Beatrice is the only one that makes sense, as she's above the primary antagonist from the season (at least the first part, haven't seen the rest) in Raz.

Atlantis, Exo-force, Vikings. But more importantly in that period you had the streamlined wedge pieces + original themes. I definitely have a soft spot for old designs but classic Lego was just so limited in the kinds of shapes that can be produced. Even now you can buy mouseslop sets and build just about any kind of design you can imagine (although there are probably still a lot of shapes you cannot manage even with the current inventory). Also juniorization was a huge problem in the late 95-05 period.

I am 28 yo, never had a job and live with my parents in a 3rd world eurpoor country. My family stopped all the gift thing years ago and it must be over 8 years since the last time I received a Christmas gift. I don't get any money from my parents and osver the last 3 months I managed to save 16€ selling some old stuff from the basement, and some of you probably think the set is not worth the money but I like collecting minifigs and this was the cheapest way to get them.Tomorrow I will open the gift and try to enjoy Christmas on my own in my room.

I save up money for lego by using reverse vending machines. Most people just see plastic bottles everywhere. Now I see money on the ground. Scanning receipts for the tax refund works as well. Got to think outside the box in euro poor countries.

I was a neet from high school up until I was 27. You need to have some success in life anon, even if it means just taking a wagie part time job. Try to get a little gig doing literally anything. I got out of being a neet by working at a bakery part time, the first month was extremely difficult, but I slowly adjusted. Avoiding the uncomfortable parts of life only feeds into your own perceptions and low self esteem. And the longer you live passively, the harder it is to change. I would look into local employment agencies or start to apply to entry level positions with a resume that has some "embellishments" about working at a family farm or taking care of family, something along those lines. That is how I got my foot in the door to begin with. Best of luck, I hope 2024 is your year, anon.

This. They're using Mario baseplates to emulate that shitty terraforming mechanic that ruined the point of the game. New Horizon was too popular so Lego knows all the women running villager slave trades will buy anything for specific villagers not actual sets. Thte island aesthetic could have been comfy but I found it soulless in New Horizon and preferred being in the middle of the woods. Maybe if it wasn't an island made of Mario baseplates it'd be OK.

More on Lego's side half the entire franchise' thing was decoratibg your hiome so instead of making a full home to decorate they made 1/3rd of a facade covered it in tiles to inflate the price. The rooves aren't even half of the house. There's no land because of those fucking Mario baseplates which also inflate piececounts. (More pieces are wasted on stupid shit from the new game like a crafting table too.) So you're left with something even more shallow than New Horizons.

The overdetailed houses and no baseplates and underdetailed trees clash too.

Neets are in a different situation. For them it's largely a struggle with a mental disorder which feeds and manifests itself through passive living. If you never have small successes or seek change, one day you'll just wake up as an old, deranged man who is stuck forever, doing nothing and realizing you never really tried. That is more depressing and immobilizing than being the most depressing wagecuck. That fear is what pushed me out of my comfort zone to apply to random jobs.

When I got my first job after being a neet for 8 years, it was extremely difficult. I was socially maladjusted, was not used to dealing with stress or processing issues, but by continually showing up and fighting to change myself, it became easier and easier. Around the 2-3 month mark, I realized I preferred to work part time than do nothing. You guys seriously need some wins in your lives, and I hope you have them.

If someone told me I wrote this 4-5 years ago on r9k, I wouldn't doubt it. Judging on how articulate you type, and your own dissatisfaction with where you are at, you are able and ready to do something new. Just try anything, you have nothing to lose, anon. Lots of little part time jobs are just about having someone there, and in terms of socializing, that is hard but it gets easier with time.

My dad is planning to turn the part of the house where I stay into an airbnb, I will be relegated to the summer kitchen in the backyard. It is inevitable that I will be kicked out sooner or later. I don't even have big dreams and the desire for a social life/romance is long gone. I don't even know if basic survival is even a worthwhile goal anymore. My interest in LEGO is in part due to my childhood being the only happy time and reminiscing is a cope for me.

my MOC focus has shifted entirely over to organic creatures and mechanical builds. That's literally it. I have no desire to make big mocs, landscaping, etc.

Anyone else like this? All the new small parts lego makes are so amazing, and make it so much easier now to make super small minifig scale builds that still resemble what they're trying to capture

I wonder how the design process for 3in1 works. Do they make the main model first and then the designer tries making other builds with the same pieces? And includes more specific pieces based on what those need which in turn bulks up the main model? There's currently a seller on ebay who has stock of it at the moment. They seem to be one of those sellers that just sells stuff straight from the factory, with unprinted/off-color figures, and large amounts of UCS star wars figures.

You want printed vinyl instead of paper. You can get sheets in clear and white that work in laserjet printers. Depending on how durable you want the end result to be, you can either print the whole face on clear or make smaller elements so there isn't a big edge around the whole thing. Color matching for the pieces under the sticker is difficult so anything you can put on clear will make the end result look more pro.

Lego is risk-averse at the moment, so if they want to take any risks on themes, they'll want to involve as few "new" parts as possible. If they're doing another Bionicle reboot, they will have enough stock of parts already in play to avoid putting too much money into brand new ones in case the theme flops again.

I have no issue with the first one, although I doubt it would be true. G2, nexo knights, even chima and ninjago after all these years still had/have a token female squad member instead of half the cast, and dreamzzz and hidden side I believe focused on a male/female duo.
The second one is unfortunate but was already somewhat the case in g2 so I wasn't under any illusions it wouldn't happen.

The rest aside Voya Nui are inside him, they are his organs, Mata Nui was his mask.

In the final battle the robot was badly damaged, the desert planet and it's 2 moons re-unified. G3 were it a continuation would take place on any possible locale on this stitched together planet. The explanation of it all is very messy, but technically it's still a clean board to do/place almost whatever and hid le references.
