I do not undertsnad why lego wont touch anime properties.

The Naruto set hit 10000 supporters 3 times(!!!) and lego rejected it every time. Yet they approved a fucking Twilight set. I dont get it.

Also, I call BS that properties such as One Piece and DBZ are innapropriate. The Netflix One Piece adaptation is not innapropriate, less so than stranger things or wednesday. Noe the OP anime, its get sexy later on, and havent watched it for some time. But I am rewatching DBZ and I call bs on lego part, it aint inappropriate more than star wars or marvel movies.

That still doesn't indicate whether they're on one head or two. Chill until you actually know for sure that you have a reason to take issue with it. And to be clear, I dislike double-sided heads in general because they aren't worth limiting your headpiece options to things that fully cover the back of the head (and even in official sets far too often you get back-of-the-neck beards and mouths).

I don't think they will give us another fort and US cavalry styled series. It's too political and against lego's liberal MO. I could see them doing some civilian western town life with maybe a sheriff and some bandits. Just not the fort. As far as the Indians maybe they do a civilian village life theme but I don't think they will do the theme a long side any western theme because of the politics.

I think the original vision was to do something along the lines of the Mario sets with lots of interconnecting sets, but the sales numbers after the collab began didn’t justify the separate packaging and marketing so the stuck it in all one big dust magnet outside the original demo. I wonder what the turn over rate is for the people in charge of flopped collabs/set designs? It’s gotta be a decision made at multiple levels with at least a dozen people involved, so it’s not all up to the set designer to make the sets successful. I think it also explains why non collabs and ip slop are straight across the board better. One vision is better than eight in a blender.

The Western Town train is nowhere as detailed as this winning set, but it's a set for lots of play and there's a whole town of bricks in the set beside the train. Whereas the Bricklink winner here used as many parts as the WHOLE Western Town set. And it's just a display piece. It's tracks are literally just a stand for it. What a waste.

The Lion Knight Castle is a giant specialized thing. The Creator set was DESIGNED for building your own stuff out of it. You can buy 4 Creator castles for the price of the Lion Knight Castle. It's not "cope" to say I can get more value from obe which is why I wouldn't buy the other.

As is, right now I could buy the Medieval Village and Creator Three In One Castle for $70 less than the Lion Knight Castle by itself, and I think I would have way more fun building AND playing with them. The Creator set is made for taking apart abd rebuilding, and the Village stock is ripe for MOCing.

And if you are ordering from Lego, spend that 70 on pick a brick for more Castle figures or parts to incorporate to your Creator Castle. But to say preferring the Creator is poorfag cope is retarded. The Creator Castle just happens to have fantastic parts to pull from and inspires builds.

Dude on YouTube Brick2Rick has like 20+ MOCs all built with that one Castle set

You can see how low their IQ is when they're forced to do anything the Lego company didn't expressly tell them how to do. They just have shit tons of money to buy every expensive set that pops up, and they think it's some kind of accomplishment.

I'm making a city but it's 50% mocs or modifications of facade-style sets and I've never purchased a single creator expert modular because seeing them so many fucking times on YouTube has put me off the style.

That’s not a western set, it’s a pirate set. Pirate, castle, and space all get some level of support (I suspect castle might get completely killed off soon by dnd though), western gets basically none. While I don’t really care about western stuff, I like the classic generic themes (especially castle) and hope the westernchads get what they deserve

Bionicle became a total mess in terms of setting and lore along with the quality of the parts/joints becoming worse and worse.

I never liked CCBS either. It's not inherently bad but it's also not Bionicle. It's kind of funny looking back on it how much Bionicle is completely unlike modern Lego in that regard. They'd go pale at the number of new molds each wave introduced. It was, ultimately, a pretty incoherent system (especially before 2006 or so), but I feel like that was part of the magic of it.

One of the reasons i no longer work for corp (used to work for the 4th largest one in the world), cant imagine how anyone can bear it on a long term basis. It feels so fucking dystopian, at first most people that ive worked with just "rolled" with it, then normal people just left and diversity hires/female managers suddenly appeared everywhere and most projects that ive know of started to have issues. When I was leaving there was a pattern where middle managers/project leads work around 1y, set back the projects/made a lot of mess inside, got moved to different project and history repeated itself. Its a clown world where people do nothing besides virtue signaling and are paid like hard working class.

I just built the Lego Indiana Jones and the last crusade plane set, and it's kinda mixed.
On one hand a pretty good representation of a Pilatus P-2, but on the other, why is the only Nazi in the 2023 reboot of Lego Indiana Jones a super specific Nazi that can only be used in the plane?
Where's the generic Nazi goons for Indy to beat up?

They did give an official statement about the cancellation of the ToD set but it didn't really say the real reason, so it very well could have been related to the racism controversies. Not sure about the sets bombing but the movie didn't do so great, so that's probably the reason for it. Compare that to the original Indy sets, where they released a few based on the classic movies at the beginning of the year and had Crystal Skull sets ready to drop as soon as the film came out just a few months later. Nowadays TLG refuses to take any risks which is why the "reboot" felt so cautious and cynical.

As for other sets they could have done - Would have loved something based on the Grail scene (either the whole temple in the style of the golden idol one) or just the final room. The tank from TLC is also something that was missed in the original waves. It's technically not a nazi tank (both in-canon and the real one it's based on are British) but I guess it might still be stepping too far into realistic military no-no territory. Even KotCS deserved at least one set; they could have done something based on the warehouse scene since even people who hated the movie would probably want that iconic location from the first film. And of course their are plenty of cool setpieces that would have made for good Dial of Destiny sets, regardless of how the actual film performed (the tomb of Archimedes especially).

Anyway I'll stop sperging. Luv me Indy, simple as.

Like you say in a later post there's track, but just a display base. If you mean a full loop of track you can either go and use track from some other Lego train set you have or go on ebay and buy a complete circle of track for under $25. Curves are plentiful on the aftermarket since most Lego Train folks are buying the track packs Lego makes for the straights rather than the curves.

And like another anon pointed out, the red train can be easily motorized since there's enough space in the engine and tender to stuff a motor and battery box into both, while there's like no room to power the green train

The buildings in the Wild West set are very nice and if it were just them alone I'd have bought it, but the Train in that set is very much an afterthought to use up as much of the parts count as possible (As evident by coming with 3996/4000 parts.)

To some degree, there has been many after work activities (also you got free off work hours if you wanted to attend some leftiest protest). I have a guilty memory attached to that torso heh. Decades ago I was at a friend's house and he had a nice pile of Lego we would play with; among his figures was that pirate, except his was missing an arm. I pocketed the guy and kid me justified it cuz of the missing arm I guess. He moved away but never said anything about him, figured he probably didn't even notice. Heh nah, haven't progressed to tackling anything of that scale, maybe someday. Would also need to build three more of those dropships (minimum), get a corresponding number of marines, plus crew for the carrier... logistics get daunting in a hurry. Here's another dropship I did for the Lego army men, this one intended to also provide close air support as a gunship. Might revise it down the road.

It’s pretty barebones still, I spent a lot of time working out modifying the invader to vert land and switching the radiator attachment to brackets. I’m stuck on getting the roof right with the transparent pieces I have, maybe I’ll scallop the edge or give it a shed style roof over half of it rather than full windows, but I want to see inside too. For additional elements I’m thinking a hostage cell; some kind of database for intercepted messages, fixed defense employments, possibly a SAM launcher, and of course a trophy area for my space baddy. I have an OG galaxy explorer to put together to and may incorporate that later
Anyone got ideas? Stuck on if it’s worth including some lab equipment for scanning crystals (I dig Nu city space’s rock raiders like obsession with them).

Can't tell from the images but there's watertight doors between the main hull and the outrigger compartments in case of an emergency. It took some fiddling but I wanted to have as many viewports as possible in keeping with the exploration aspect, which is partly why it's quite roomy inside. Originally had a crew of four, think I've added one or two more since. There are also a pair of deployable ROVs for getting into tight spaces; they can also serve as improvised torpedos in extreme situations. The sub itself is minimally armed for repelling potential deep sea monstrosities.

Thanks heh. Bricklink is my main source for specialized parts or anything I can't source from my existing stockpile. The local Lego store PaB wall fills the remainder - more than a few mocs (including that one) were heavily inspired by what parts have been available at the wall. A little bit Aquazone, a little bit The Abyss, a little bit Sealab 2021 is my thinking. Among other things it will feature a garage capable of servicing all the various modules of the operation; a processing plant for the raw materials brought in from the mining, with refining, packaging and shipping areas; research and development facilities; a massive reactor complex; comms network hub; CEO office; defensive systems with security control centre... it grows in my mind but not a single brick has been laid yet, and probably won't be for some time yet.

The articulation is lacking because they’re small, proportion wise they look great. The only alternative I can think of that does more with proportions is megabloks figures and they look much worse proportionally and aesthetically. Anyways I'm a bit warmer on these now. Nanny-droid is cute, I like the retro cooking robot a lot more now, and the disguised aliens are pretty nice.
On top of the ones I was already aiming for (Ice Planet, M-Tron, Gray, Insectoid) it should be a solid line.
Still disappointed the Insectoid isn't a Zotaxian and that we didn't get more theme call-outs, but what can you do.

Not a fan of the new ice planet helmet. The orange visor was the coolest part. I actually don't even like most of the ice planet sets looking back. I just think the minifig + orange skis and chainsaws was the coolest shit. Picrel was a cool set. The ones with big skis were better than the wheeled ones.

I like the Grey Alien with a normal head piece, now you can use that for a lot of things unlike the previous molded one

Looks like the bug guy with the grapes could be a helmet-like head, is there another head underneath that? It doesn't have to be, but it would be cool if they did that.

a lot of people will be uncomfortable with the unbalanced Blacktron 3-armed guy. hur hur that's the point. still not cool. I'm not sure what to say about Lego quasi-condoning the practice of arm-pulling to make it a regular Blacktron torso. They did it before with the purple space logo suit, and now with this. it's an odd move for them.

I rebuilded mine around 1y ago, lost some smaller parts but I bought some replacement. I loved it but I wanted the big ship, sadly it wasnt avaliable and Ive got the exploriens one. Still i agree about the other ice planet sets, I liked the faction mostly for setting. Most space factions were just "spaceman" on barren planets, ice planet and aquazone were most intresting ones because of the setting.

I find it really sad how they've progressed the lore of Blacktron.
From a sleek unit with great suits and aesthetics to a bunch of mutants and aliens.
Lego really made some poor choices with the faction.

I don't think the new helmet is great either, compared to the old one. The colors on the old figures just look better and have more pop to them.

Well we can't rule out a new version for such figs. Clearly people (although I use that term loosely where clonetroons are concerned) will still pay top dollar for the original purely for its prestige as a "collector's item", otherwise Cloud City Boba Fett would have been made obsolete by all the arm/leg print nuFetts.
