Overall design. Cop lights placement reminds me roof spoiler, rear spoiler reminds me ducktail. Muscle car proportions with long hood and fastback style rear. Bulky line of fenders, especially near rear wheels. And front lip (which is missing in your image) with this old fashioned grille and extra (fog?) lights from the other Mad Max car - red one driven by bad guys..

Well, if it's any assurance, I just got mine, which I bought on backorder in early April, pretty much on the last day you could even do that. On a serious note, I'm not usually one for lisence sets, but this is the first one I've bought in a while and I really dig it.

In particular, the turret slit is a neat little technique that I'll definately use in future.

Amazingly they're actually prints, another nice detail for the set. Truth be told the entire radar dish is fantastic, I love it.

As for useful parts, besides the gold panels there's a bunch of the bumper/train pantograph pieces

What do you all think of the Lego skyline series?

I was never interested but suddenly yesterday decided to buy the ones from cities I have visited in the past and MOC ones that Lego doesn't have.

So I bough Paris, London, Shanghai, Tokyo.

Planning on MOCing Lisbon, Seoul, Amsterdam and Rome amongst others

My only complaint is that they seem quite expensive. This is probably because there are a lot of parts, just no large pieces.

It seems that I ruined my old gray and blue parts by dumping them into 6% peroxide for approximately 6 hours on a sunny day.
Blue bricks gone "milky" colour, blue tiles loses clutchablity and old gray slopes became spotted

I recently managed to get a good lot of parts and figures that contains mostly 80s and 90s parts.
While the parts are now sitting in a mix of water and detergent in order to dislodge the absolute filth off them I have had a chance to clean the figures.
This is what the lot looked like after washing.I was pretty excited since I knew there were some cool things in there.

This is what I managed to get together. Some of the figures I rebuilt as they were originally while others I just decided to rebuild in a more convenient way for me.
I was pretty excited to get so many CS guys despite their not so great condition.
Front row has some of the most interesting figures, including Ogel (which is a really nice find for me), some figures I rebuilt as spacegoers, a samurai and a discount adventurers pilot.
All in all I'm pretty happy with all of the figures and I'm going to try and build each one at least a little something in the coming months.

These mario sets remind me more of mario rpg than any of the platform games. A few of them look cool outside of the game gimmic but they are all over priced even for license tax.

It's nice to see lego make terrain sets and make good use of empty space rather than try to cram a bunch of stuff on a plate like some of the earlier minecraft sets. It would just be nice if they didn't charge for the empty space.

I did pretty well paying $350 for a bulk lot of Alien Conquest, Dino 2012 and Star Wars sets.

Unfortunately, I didn't realized until after I bought it that the lot had no minifigs whatsoever, which was a bit of a bummer.

Check book stores. I also have found them in walgreens and if you're in Florida Publix is known to have a Lego section. Dollar Tree isn't going to have brand name Lego, but dollar general and 5 below sometimes have the real stuff.

I do, I posted in the last thread about how I found 32 Exo Force sets for $600 CAD off of Kijiji (Canadian Craigslist) and I just found 4 Paradisa sets for $350 CAD (pic related)
They're relatively cheaper individually on Bricklink, but I didn't want to buy from multiple sellers & risk them not mentioning parts being yellowed or whatever - also, the 6416 set on BL goes for ~$160 CAD, so I thought I'd just buy off of this lady
She said the sets have been in a Rubbermaid bin for 25 years, so Im pretty excited

(Also, I got a 3rd 6416 on eBay for $130 CAD total, I lowballed the seller and they gave me a deal of $35 USD off)

Not yet, everything I ordered should arrive within the next 2 weeks; I'll for sure post pics once it all comes in

Thanks! It wasn't really planned, but I've got some stuffing left over that I'll use in future photos; it's great for clouds and stuff like that, so I'll definitely have use for it
I wish Lego stuck to their old ways of advertising, their photography left so much open to the imagination

Cool in concept but more trouble than it's worth.
I had Mace Windu and it was fun until the batteries ran out.
The lightsaber hand being locked to a single angle meant that fitting them in a seat or enclosed space could be really awkward unless you removed the lightsaber bar.

Meme buzzwords aside, probably because one of the special things about Lego as an "art" is its limitations. Lego is rarely about creating the most realistic or most accurate portrayal of something, but rather having to settle for what's good enough within the confines the Lego gods have set for us. Often we reach for abstractions to emulate things we can't get perfectly.
Another thing is when we toe the line of these limitations, when you see parts used in ways you never imagined them. It's interesting, it's cool and is typically a good show of the builder's creativity.

What do you all think of the Lego Skyline series?

I was never interested but suddenly yesterday decided to buy the ones from cities I have visited in the past and MOC ones that Lego doesn't have.

So I bought Paris, London, Shanghai and Tokyo.

Planning on MOCing Lisbon, Seoul, Amsterdam and Rome among others.

My only complaint is that they seem quite expensive. This is probably because there are a lot of parts, just no large pieces.

I’ve never been a seller on eBay, so I guess I am ignorant to these things, and you probably have a point. However, PayPal does provides buyer/seller protections, and eBay provides a greatly expanded pool of buyers (who may be willing to pay more).

Can anyone tell me if the arms of this dude can be removed and put on a regular minifigure? Gaming was always a hard competition. And now with streaming and gaming being that big, Lego now struggles with a much bigger competitor the last 10-5 years. That is why they had these licenses that kinda combines these areas with Lego.

Kids play with video games, it is direct competition to playing with Lego. Streaming is competition to budget kids or young adults have.

people and kids dont play that much with their hands. They start early playing with games watching streams instead.
And we see Lego is mostly successfull as appearall to other ips or digital stuff.
That is why StarWars, JurassicPark, Superheroes, Harry Potter and Minecraft is successfull. It is statues for fans of the series.
The exception is Ninjago, which is the appearall to the Ninjago IP, and Friends, which is an IP in itself, while girls are less into gaming than boys.

I've just tried out the free mecabricks blender plugin.
The materials are good and the brick models are really high quality, much better scaled and proportioned than the LDraw based Stud.io models.
The only con is that you need to log in to the mecabricks SAAS crap and import/export your model in their format.

The lite addon only has cycles, if you want to pay you can get eevee + surface scratches and mold lines.
Back in my days of being a NEET, I painstakingly created my own materials (pic related), but these take some voodoo to get working so I wanted to try some ready made solutions.

Anyone listen to MandR latest upload is LEGO DOOMED?

He broke some important news. Supposedly the original leak of general grievous starfighter included a phase 2 commander Cody. The reason why it was taken out was that Lego saw the results for the UCS Star Wars set and a commander Cody was the top pick for the UCS Gunship.

He goes into explaining that commander cody originally being included with the set might have contributed to the price as well.

What do you guys think was MandR getting correct information from this insider or did the set always have the airborne trooper?
