Well among the G1 Autobots you have Seaspray and Broadside, so it seems like they favor sea vehicles. Megatron would definitely be the superior battleship though, being matching colors and having superior fireblast.

Hightower is a odd duck no if ands or buts, the strange double jointed legs and weird pronged "feet" (I dont know does he roll around?).
I preferred his concept art that was like crane in the shape of a Tyrannosaurus but I think they had to keep the back end of Hightower the big ratcheting elbow of Devastator so Hightower's head and arms are below it's crane arm making him more like a weird like scorpion man. Other than the legs theres little articulation and the crane arm only has limited up and down movement. I think Hightower suffered the most for Devastator, all that said you can mistranform him to look like that concept art.

Didn't they quietly reissue CW Devastator late last year? I'm thinking we'll get some other combiners first and get SS86 versions of redecoed exclusives like Siege Soundwave and maybe redone versions of guys like Devastator later.

you can see why the lack of packaging on plushes and toy swords is sort of unique and not applicable to the action figure situation. it's like a discussion of groceries and saying "well some food comes already hot" like yeah, from a restaurant or food cart.. but we're at the grocery store right now. yes yes okay, they do sell hot food over at the deli counter.

Might sound dumb but would g1 style voyager class versions of shatter and dropkick work as heavy remoulds of Blitzwing and sandstorm? Dropkick just works as sandstorm with a different head and shatter could just be the jet part of legacy Blitzwing but replace the tank parts with muscle car parts

i don't love G1 all that much, but having one show's character in the style of another is fun. and G1 was first, so it holds a special place
I'd like to also see beast wars style versions of other characters (especially the blocky old animalbots) like we did with Ravage
though it would have actually been pretty cool if he was still a quadruped and just sorta walking around talking to them like that.

Transformers Universe Prowl

This wasn't a very nice toy to start with and as you can see young me only made it worse.
There always comes a time when you find out that gundam markers are not the same as fine tip sharpies.

Other than what I put this toy through some of the blame can be put on Hasbro. Universe Prowl is pretty infamous for his white paint not bonding properly. Making it stick and tacky to the touch. You can clear see a part there where I just scratched some all the way off with my finger nail at some point.

I like the shape of the car. The smoky plastic and light bar are cool.
Doesn't roll worth a damn though. The front wheels are sticky too for what ever reason.

Look at this idiot that I made look worse.

It's really the little neck platform that ruins it for me. It puts his head just a little too high above his shoulders.
The shoulder assemblies stick out a little too far from the chest too. Or maybe the problem is that the chest is too narrow for a Prowl toy.

Everything below the titties is alright, besides the lack of proper thigh swivel.
But he does have a waist, wrists swivels, and ankle rockers. So that's pretty good.
Deployable missile launchers and a gun describe Prowls whole arsenal. Unless you want to pretend that he's also a master of CQC.

Also the door wings pop off their ball joints very easily and that can be frustrating.

Used to had this custom, I shaved some plastic on the underside of that platform and gave it a new balljoit to make it compatible with the Siege head.

Some people just want a better view of the toy itself beyond Hasbros shitty stock photography or renders. All jokes aside I always thought an actual submarine would be a cool altmode for him. Specifically a Type VII U-Boat (or genericized version thereof) just because it looks a bit cooler than a modern "featureless black sausage" submarine. You could even work it into his fictional introduction, having him first appear as this mysterious decrepit WW2 sub, arriving, causing mayhem and then disappearing.

It is though. Ironhide had plenty of gadgets and guns in the show, even more than random one-time gadgets everone had. Being a walking toolkit was his thing. No CHUG toy ever really represented, but the WFC weapon gimmicks were the closest we got.

>middling articulation by the looks of it, doesn’t even look like his knee”s bend 90 degrees but barring that. mostly standard stuff for WFC+
>loads of clear plastic, making up his chest, sides of his torso and the sides/back of his legs. Could be brittle but I dunno if clear plastic is better now than last year
>given reports from TFW, might not come with more than himself and a blaster so a bit lacklustre for a voyager

Also he’s like, the most toon character we’ve had in years so, yeah maybe that’s good depending on where you stand

I don't get the obsession with accessories, unless they all store in satisfying and clean/clever ways in both modes its just extra crap that comes with your transforming toy you have to slap around a normal looking vehicle or shove in bags or drawers or something when you're not using them. I dunno man I hate the blast effects, they were cool at first but then they just started filling up Omega's shin cavities and a box in my drawers. They usually feel a bit lame and not all have great fit, and half the time the extra weight of the cool big ones makes arms just flop down and stuff. I generally prefer at least getting to know all the budget supposedly went towards the figure itself, even if the figure is shit at least I can say for sure its crap designers/incompetence of some kind and not wasted budget

nah, I can see what he's saying. The profile of the car mode has a thicc back, making it feel more feminine. I guess my problem with Earthrise Arcee's car mode is how boxy the sides look, no curves to it like the 86 version. Maybe if they nailed that, the car mode would look way better.

Picked one up at that price, thinking it was Bluestreak only realized later it was the Diaclone paintjob, or that Silverstreak is a different character altogether. Pretty happy anyways for $7, now Smokescreen has a buddy.

Glad I got the Earthrise Arcee as a BOGO now. (I wanted Warpath, Arcees were shelfwarming) Now I don't need to feel guilt getting the 86 one, because I generally dislike having to buy dupes/repaints of the same figure, with minor alterations. (Learned that the hard way with the Seekers.)

I must be the luckiest guy who got the Impactor/Spindle pack, because my copy feels very solid on most joints, and onyx one of the feet falls off easily. The only other joint with a mild issue is the last of the fins, but that has a screw so it should be easy to fix.

Just got the Impactor two pack, I honeslty don't get why the chest is gold plastic. They bothered changing the shoulder gun so it could be two pieces (with the front detachable to reveal a port), so why didn't that back piece also include the chest? Or better yet, why didn't they just mold the head, gun piece and torso purple, then paint the gun and head gold?

Yeah, but I'm certain all these new parts are on separate sprues, so if they were to mold them all purple, it wouldn't impact the rest of the toys colors.
