From Gen 3 onward, the mantra shifted to "how can we shill the anime and merch as much as humanly possible?"
I don't know what Johto haters are really trying to accomplish. They spend weeks, months screaming into the void, but nothing will ever change. There is no situation where the first two generations of Pokemon will ever be viewed unfavourably by the general public. No amount of gay ops on 4chan will ever change anyone's minds.
