>>33847703I'll spell it out for you some more so you can get it in that thick skull of yours
If the discord is public:
- it's less public, the people who use it are less "accountable" and they can "plot" in secret
- it gets a steady stream of new users to keep it fresh and active
- if drawfriends want to vent about something that's bothering them, they can do it in the discord instead of shitting up the thread
If the discord is private:
- no influx of new users as old ones grow less active results in a community turning into a circlejerk
- circlejerks make people in the community more likely to lose interest in drawing for /vp/
- a private circlejerk discord will be much more likely to shit up threads
- nobody wins
The discord already has a strict "don't do requests here" rule. It's existed since august last year and the threads have been going mostly fine since.
The biggest thing shitting up the threads are the tripfags that try to hog attention and all the retarded anons that reply to and feed their egos. Those tripfags aren't even in the discord, except for swordbro, who barely ever talks anyway. (Which is another reason to keep it public)
Nobody gains anything from getting rid of the discord link. The threads suffer and the discord suffers.
