Additionally you don't seem to understand that compromises almost always need to be made when transitioning from storyboard to animation. Being more dynamic and expressive is easy when it's a simplified still image. Not as much when it's part of an animated movement. ESPECIALLY 3d animation. Take

Most likely it'd come down to striking that pose and holding it rather than using any sort of animated movement. On the other hand, I assume the bottom is a still from a set of more animated movement. I could easily see him pumping his arms or shuffling his legs in excitement before transitioning to another pose. It might not necessarily be an objectively better directing choice, but it does make more use of the animated medium.
