Just like how he's forcing himself to pander to them.
Just like how he's forcing himself to move onward in this direction just because it not only sells, but because it puts the franchise in good favor with them.
Just like how he's forcing himself to think of more and more excuses as to why the games continue to get easier and easier while cutting more and more content to be in good favor with them.
Just like how he wishes he could get the fuck away from this franchise like everyone else in GameFreak, but he knows he can't because they're literally only known as "the guys who make Pokemon" and all of their past titles have failed spectacularly for lacking the Pokemon Brand.
Just like how he'll lament TOWN's inevitable failure despite attempts at marketing pushes, and when it does come and flop, everyone will just say "I don't know why they wasted their time on this, Pokemon's clearly all they're good at and they don't need to push themselves to try something different when everyone's content with Pikachu and friends. The development time spent on TOWN could've been used for a Pokemon Game instead".
Just like how when the day finally comes that he lies on his deathbed, when asked "You must feel amazing having lived long enough to see Pokemon become something amazing, huh?" by his closest family and friends, all he'll be able to muster is his most infamous words in a somber, empty tone.
