Holy shit, this doesn't look like a trainwreck. I'm genuinely surprised.
At the end of the day, the morals are going to be hamhanded and the plot is going to be formulaic because it's a children's movie and they gotta play it safe. But it's not offensively bad.
In fact, the design/aesthetic is cool as fuck. The greninja/charizard look incredible. They're probably going to be the villain's generic minions though.
