Imagine actually wanting to be pigeonholed into using new mons, especially when they're as ugly as the gen 5 ones. I literally don't want to use any of the early mons besides Roggenrola, they're all putrid.
Meanwhile, I had no problem using only Kalos mons or Alola mons in my playthroughs of their respective games because they're actually well designed, but should I want to use older Pokemon, that option is still on the table unlike in BW.
