i didn't get the point of this in 2008, and 15 years later, i still don't get it
i can understand fanfiction, and fanfics putting the characters together, but why the weird names, why the bulbapedia entries, why the fandoms... none of this is canon, what's the point of categorizing it like this? and how am i supposed to interpret a name like "altoshipping", what the fuck is "alto"? ash+latias+o smooshed together? it means literally nothing to me
